Salmon and Sea Trout | Castle Grant | River Spey
SALMON AND SEA TROUT FISHING
The River Spey is one of Scotland's major salmon rivers, with runs of spring and autumn salmon, summer grilse, and often exceptional runs of sea trout. At Castle Grant, below Grantown on Spey, Strathspey Estate has three of the best salmon beats with a total of 29 named pools. The water contains both deep, slow-moving pools and others which are shallower and faster flowing. Each beat has double bank fishing, ensuring exclusive use in quiet, relaxed surroundings, and with experienced full-time ghillies in attendance. Access is by private vehicle and beats have their own centrally located huts with WC, hot and cold water, heaters, cooking and barbecue facilities. The beats are let with either Kinveachy Lodge (beat 1) or Inverallan House (beat 2), or beat 3 is available without accommodation.
