FISHING AT BRORA - BROWN TROUT AND SALMON The Hotel maintains boats for brown trout and salmon on Loch Brora, and fishing for salmon on the rivers Brora and Helmsdale - two of the very best far northeast rivers - may also be booked with sufficient notice. The Brora has long had a reputation as a spring salmon river and good catches can still be made in the early months of the season. Salmon fishing in Sutherland is fly only, and river ghillies are available by arrangement. There are also numerous hill lochs in the area where hard-fighting wild brown trout are plentiful. Sea angling can be arranged from Brora Harbour. Prices: Hotel boats on Loch Brora cost 25 UK Pounds per day. For details and availability of river fishing for salmon please contact the hotel. Brora Salmon Season: 1 February - 15 October Brown Trout Season: 15th March - 6th October |
