What
Can I Advertise?
- We advertise game-fishing (with and without accommodation) throughout
Scotland. For accommodation-only adverts we require full details of fishing
available locally. Although we concentrate on fishing for salmon, trout
and sea-trout we will consider including advertisements for sea and coarse
angling.
Special
Introductory Offer - Apply now to receive your first
6 months advertising completely FREE, without obligation. The
free trial period
commences when you have approved your page and it is placed online as
part of the Fish in Scotland website. Click
here for a printable
application form, and please phone (0131 552 4973)
or
us if you have any queries.
Existing
Websites - Fish in Scotland normally includes direct links
to advertisers' own websites. Advertisers therefore benefit from our own
Internet marketing strategies, thus increasing traffic to their sites.
Enquiries and Bookings - Interested parties will normally contact
advertisers directly, but we will pass on any enquiries we receive at
no extra charge. We regularly receive enquiries asking for advice or recommendations
for fishing in particular areas of Scotland and always try to match these
with appropriate advertisers.
Your
Own Web Address - We can supply a unique Fish in Scotland web
address - www.fishinscotland.net/yourname - linking to your Fish
in Scotland page. This is ideal if you don't have your own website or
wish to have a separate web page devoted exclusively to fishing. You may
use this address (URL) on your business stationery, press advertising
and promotional literature to direct Internet users to your page. There
is a one-off fee of £25 for a Fish in Scotland web address.
Size and Content of Advertisements - Each advertisement is
placed on a page of its own, with links from our Home Page, and can
contain
up to 750 words and 6 pictures. Extra pictures can be added for a one-off
payment of £5 each. If possible, please refer to an existing Fish in
Scotland advertisement to see the type of information (fishing availability,
travel
details, etc) required to create your advertisement. We try to include
as much information as possible to enable visitors who are unfamiliar
with fishing in Scotland to form a clear picture of what is on offer.
Over 40% of our visitors come from North America and our own Internet
advertising is targeted equally at the overseas and home markets. If
you wish to present more information additional Fish in Scotland web
pages
are available for a one-off fee of £25 per page.
Creating
and Checking Advertisements
- Because we want advertisers to be completely
satisfied with the accuracy of their information we submit pages for
approval before officially adding them to the Fish in Scotland website.
Draft pages
can either be viewed online or posted to advertisers for checking.
Updates
and Changes - All advertisements can be updated at any time
free of charge, normally with 24 hours.
Sending
Text - Text can be sent by post or email, and we are happy
to work from websites, brochures or other sources. We try to reproduce
your text and information as closely as possible but may need to edit
it.
Pictures
- We can use photographs, slides, drawings, digital images, or pictures
from brochures or websites. We suggest including images to show
accommodation,
fishing (river, loch, fishermen etc), and a general 'scenic' image of
the area.
If necessary we may be able to supply suitable fishing pictures (free
of charge) from our own picture library. Remember that good quality
pictures will really enhance your advertisement. You can add or substitute
pictures at any time.
Sending
Pictures - Please label pictures clearly with your name and
a title or short caption, and pack them carefully to avoid damage in the
post. We will return them once they have been scanned. Pictures can be
sent as scanned or digital camera images on CD, floppy or Zip disk (PC
format), or as email attachments.
Finally
- Remember that your advertisement will be accessible round the clock
365 days a year, and will be targeted at a specialist angling audience
throughout the world. Many advertisers report good responses from our
service and we believe we offer excellent value in terms of the quality
and depth of information we present to our many angling visitors.
If you have any queries please
email us, or phone Alan on 0131 552 4973 (office hours).
We look forward to hearing from you.
